1st repair of this machine was on the 2of July the screen went bad.
That was handled by a local authorized service center.

Then around July 31st the video card began acting up. Took the machine to the local service center for repair (this is where Ryan comes in to the picture) called in and requested a box
This arrived on Tuesday the 2nd. The machine was sent in and the system board was replaced as well as the cover and LCD bezel to fix the botched up service the local repair center did.

However the tech?s at IBM couldn?t do much better. I received my machine back on Thursday the 5th. They seemed to have trouble getting it to fit properly. So there are gaps at the antenna?s and at the Bluetooth card. Also the palm rest at the HD side has a bulge in it and makes a popping noise.
Also the keyboard came back to me in an un-seated position
so I had to immediately remove and re seat the keyboard when inside I notice the previous tech had decided not to put the thermal pad back on the GPU.
The tech that reassembled the unit, instead of using new screws used the old screws this is in disregard to the Hardware maintenance manual.

Now the machine has a severe bowing effect on the LCD cover and the wireless card has lost virtually all signal.

So Friday the 6th I called and reported all of these things to customer care.
And a new box arrives on Monday this time the machine repairs have been escalated to the RAID Team.
they are asked to fix the cover and the palm rest also replace the GPU thermal pad and resolve the wireless issue.

So I receive a call from the tech telling me all is fixed and the machine will be shipped out to me that evening of the 11th so I received the machine on the 12th.

When I received the machine back I open up the box The status Icon clear plate is unseated and hanging barely inside the hole it sits and I can see inside to the LCD circuit board.
Also the keyboard is again completely unseated and the wireless card is still virtually no signal. Sent it in
again this time to the IBM engineers team.

Now it comes back again still unfixed and virtually no wireless signal and now the screen blanks and white lines appear when the LCD is moved. This was to be repaired by the easy serv engineers and a call was to be placed to me by someone at the repair depot before this notebook was shipped back to me.

Not one call was received and this machine arrived at the depot at approx. 12:00PM on Friday the 13th and it was shipped back to me at approx at 3:08PM on the 13th.
This is the last and final time this machine will be sent off to the depot. The only acceptable resolution at this time will be for the machine to be replace by the machine of my choice.
And that would be X40 23718LU and the USB 2.0 Multi burner drive.
So it is being ordered and will be shipped to me courtesy of IBM executive team.

Glad the outcome is pleasant, but IBM should not be screwing up this much...
