ibm dtla 70, 46 gigs ??? need help , data loss

this has happend 3 times now on three diffrent software apps. I install fine and they work great for about a week then little things start like files can't be found it then freezes. I have read some reviews of the IBM HD and am thinking that it might be it. your thoughts please.


P.S. could it be the speed 7200rpm uata 100, I ask because this never was a problem with my 5400rpm uata 33. I should also add its an amd system

the os is win ME it a abit kt7a board cpu is a amd 1.2c tbird liteon cdrom plxtor cdrw nec floppy creative tnt2 ultra vid card agp, creative sound blaster plat 5.1 live sound card pci slot 2, raeltec nic pci slot 4, 258 meg micron 133 sdram, bios wz "no problem with sound card unless update to zt bios", anything else
