I recently purchased an OEM ATA 100 30 gig 7200rpm IBM hardrive and will be installing it this weekend. The IBM site lists two installation utilites that sound very much alike. The manual talks about using DriveGuide, but makes no mention of Disk Manager. Can someone explain the difference and perhaps recommend one or the other?
I plan to install it in my current computer and after installing OS etc., copy certain specific files/programs to it from the old drive. The old drive will then (after formatting) become part of a computer I am building for my son. I do not plan on copying the total old drive contents to the new one.
