IBM Deathstar RMAs.. Has anyone got them to drop ship?

I have an IBM 120GXP (just as deadly as the 75 - just not publicized as often) that has been behaving erradically for months now. A few months ago, I tried to RMA it - but they would not drop-ship and I had nowhere to store 120GB.

Anyway.. it's getting near the end of my warranty and I really oughta RMA it since it sounds more like a power saw and less like a hard drive. Has anyone been able to get them to do a drop shipment? I don't feel like going without 120GB for three weeks. I offered to give them my CC# (like any drop shipment) but they wouldn't budge.
 
Nope, Hitachi has you send it to a logistics base, then from there I hear it goes to Malyasia for service. I've got a new (refurb) back within a week.
