I just purchased an IBM T42 about 2 weeks ago and the price dropped about $80 due to the announcement of the new Sonoma based T43.

I called up IBM after hearing they guarantee prices for up to 30 days and VOILA!
I'm getting $80 credited back to my account in the next 3-4 business days.

I loved IBM for their Thinkpads on quality alone, now I love IBM for their customer service!

 
Welcome to the IBM world. I'm getting my second IBM laptop on Monday. It shipped from Hong Kong on Thursday 🙂 A T42p with 2.10 gHZ 😉 and yes, IBM > * in customer service.
 
This reminds me of the supposed road warrior snob approach to notebooks: there's Apple, IBM, and everyone else. 😉
 
He the Boss, why from Hong Kong. BTW, what are the best deals for an IBM Pentium M 15 inch svga. Any alternatives you may suggest for budget reasons. Thanks.

Well I bought it from IBM's United States website but apparently (check out their FAQ) they have warehouses all around the world and to ensure quick delivery they just ship it from whichever location has it. You'll have to ask RossMan for a hot deal 🙂 I don't think IBM has a 15 inch with SVGA. I'm not sure though.
 
acutally all the thinkpads are made in china, then they go to HK and are shipped out to the rest of the world. At leasts thats what happened ever since they where made in china.
 
IBM does have great serivce from my experiences. My friend just bought a T42 around xmas time and he has had to deal with them already (his fualt). They were great...

I myself had to send my powerbook into apple this week. They sent me a box that I recieved wednesday night. I sent it DHL overnight (it was already self addressed and payed for) on thursday. I had the computer back in my hands today (saturday). This was to get an entire LCD pannel replaced. Service was great and the powerbook came back in tip top shape!
