Not sure if SCO is really lying but they are complete asses about it. When a product like Linux and Unix have been open source that long you can't say that you own it. Microsoft better get their ass working on Longhorn and Windows XP 64-bit :D

I have no idea who's right in this whole mess, but IBM will win because they have deeper pockets.

"SCO has misused, and is misusing, its purported rights to the Unix operating system...to threaten the destruction of the competing operating systems known as AIX and Linux, and to extract windfall profits for its unjust enrichment," the IBM countersuit said.

Hilarious. Big Blue legal once kept the U.S. government at bay. Goodbye SCO.

SCO ------> small rodent
Redhat ----> hunter with a .22
IBM ----> US Armed forces hunting for same rodent with nuclear weapons and MOABs.

Gee, I wonder who will win....

That is too bad, as I always like seeing IBM getting the shaft...I really hope IBM loses with this one.

What I see happening is the courts side with SCO's claims being legit, but SCO wont get it wants.

If SCO's claims are legit, which they very well could be, simply removing their code doesnt solve the issue. If SCO claims are ture, they will be receiving money, but it wont be what they are demanding.

But all three companies have technically legit claims. They seem shaddy, but they are protecting their own intrests, and doing so in a legal matter.

There is no such thing as free lunch. I am all for open source by those who want to make their source codes open, but if linux is indeed based on stolen commercial code, it should be forced to remove that code, or pay the original writers of that code. We should not be undermining companies who hire programmers to write code by then saying others can give it away for free.

Who the hell's side are you on?? Dude, if IBM loses, SCO is gonna stick it so hard to every single user and company out there that it'll be rediculous. They'll even dismantal your beloved Microsoft, or if you're a Mac user, trust me, they'll eat Mac alive too. If big blue loses, there will be no stopping SCO. They'll own everything, or darned close to it. And even if they don't own it all, do you really hate Linux and/or IBM so much that you'd be willing to have one company effectively 10x the cost of PC's, software, the internet and anything attached or associated with computers? Dude, you have no idea what a loss to SCO will do to harm not just the US, but the entire world. SCO MUST loose.
