<< A 2 terahertz (2 THz) SOI-based transistor
The smallest SRAM cell ever built at 1.8 square microns
An SOI-based photodetector for optical communications
The first ever paper on carbon nanotube transistors at the IEDM, showing that carbon nanotube transistors may perform better than silicon transistors
Invited papers on high-k gate dielectric and exploratory interconnect technologies
An analysis showing that the ultimate speed of transistors could reach 30 TeraHertz, about 15 times faster than today's best transistors - and how to approach that limit

Impressive. :)

My dad used to work for an IBM associate company...he said they have so much technology just sitting on the shelf waiting for other companies to catch up...when they do, IBM pull some tech off the shelf and presents it.

He personally saw the architecture for the Power4 about 5 years ago not mention heard about the organic LCD display technology and the laser manufcturing method for making LCD screens...they had ready to go a couple years back. But IBM figures...no sense in competing with themselves...
