IBM A31p - Need some help

Seems to be a lot of knowledgeable IBM people here, so here goes. What is the fastest processor that a
A31p came with, or what could it be updated to. How is the ATI 7800 compared to say a Dell ATI 9000
both with 64 megs. I came across a very reasonable deal on an A31 but it has a slow 1.8 processor in it.
Would like to give it a try, I am tired of my Dells. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
 
I have A31p and upgraded my cpu from 1.7 to 2.5 mobile.

If I were you, I would upgrade to 2.6 desktop one instead of mobile one. you will get a faster one.

that's just my opinion.

400 mhz one though... don't forget that...
