I have an IBM x3650 Server

It comes with a ServeRaid 8K raid controller

The drives I have are Seagate Savvio 15k.2 146GB SAS drives. There are well reviewed, enterprise class SAS drives.
The raid controller won't initialize them. I couldn't find anything online that would suggest the raid controller wouldn't work with these drives. The most I found was people complaining about large SATA drives not working.
I also was able to get a PNY SSD SATA drive to initialize. Not sure why a SATA SSD from PNY would initialize but a Seagate SAS drive wouldn't.
Thoughts? Is there a generic BIOS I can use in place of the IBM one? Should I just replace the RAID card? I'd rather not...
