ok i'm having problems here.. my ibm 75 gxp 30gb got these scores

access: 13.1
burst: 1.8 mb/s ??

i don't know what's going on.. someone's post said 2000 has lower scores, but i can't think that they're THAT much lower. i'm thinking that maybe somehow ata/100 isn't enabled or something. i'm running on a iwill kk266, if anyone can help me out, i'd appreciate it. thanks

that burst score seems extremely low. have you tried HDTach for a more meaningful benchmark?

Something is bad wrong. I have exactly the same drive you do and HD Tach Ver. 2.61 reports

burst 56.8 mbps
access 9.4 ms

max read 39.3 mbps
avg. read 34.9 mbps

I am running Windows 98SE though.

sorry about that.
you can check what udma mode your hdd is in with IBM Feature Tool (Version 1.10) available from here!
do you have anything sharing with the ata 100 controllers irq?

ok i just installed the 4.29 via busmaster driver and my scores came out like this:

random access time:15.4
burst:38.4
37k max, 2500 min, 28k average
cpu:11.3%

better, but still not on par w/the other ibm drives.. any other ideas?

Actually Jim it will affect burst rate, just not sustained rate.(unless if the burst is below 66mbps(such as in this case), but udma66+ will make a difference)

well either way, my burst *should* be above 66.. any thoughts as to why not? and also why the increase in hdtach and decrease in sandra with the new drivers?
