Guys I'm about to build my first computer next week(woohoo) and the hd I choose is a 30GB IBM 75GXP. Just wanted to hear is this was a wise choice or not...
Thanks,
Justin
Go to the Usenet newsgroup <<comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.storage>> download a couple months worth of messages (if available) and look through. Make sure you check out topics that say "problem" and see how it compares with others for reliablity. I have that drive...and experienced some strange occurances (of which IBM is aware) but otherwise its working well (knock on wood).
I love it.
I bought a 30.7 Gig 75GXP some months ago and loved it so much I pucked up a 46.1 Gig a week ago. Now my system is running with ~75Gigs of 75GXP goodness.
Great drive, super fast, very quiet, good and reliable.
