IBM 60GXP still the top IDE ?

Is the IBM 60GXP still considered the top IDE drive right now ? Newegg has the 40gb version on sale for $107

Yup. Although if you're paranoid about reliability I'd suggest something that is getting close to end-of-life such as the Quantum Fireball AS or Maxtor DM+ 60.

Actually, there are reviews out that there that suggest that 2 60GXPs in a RAID0 array out perform 10,000RPM SCSI drives!!

For $107, go for it...RAID 0 those bad boys.
