I have a 40 gigger, getting 21000 Sandra marks. I know this test sucks, but is that in the right area?

I am using the onboard IDE controller to my 8k7a. Thinking of trying it on my promise PCI raid card, but that's a lot of work if 21000 is about as high as the drive will go.

I thought they can get up to like 24000, but I could be wrong
 
depends on if u defragged your drive and how big the partition it is that u are testing.

like for me, on my 3 gig partition, i get ~27k.
on my 5 gig partition, i get like 500-1k less...
and on the rest of it (32 gig) i got something like 25.5k.

this is on a p3 800EB with the promise ultra100 controller on my pci slot. win2k sp2.
