ibm 60gxp not showing up in my computer

hello. i just installed my 60gxp as master on ide2 and it shows up in bios but it is not showing up in my computer. there is probably something stupid i am forgetin to do. someone please help?

oh i forgot. do i need to fdisk and make a extended dos partition? this drive is just gonna be used for storage not booting

Go fdisk it.

Partition it. It needs to be a DOS partition to be seen by windows. YOu don't need an extended partition if you don't want to split your hard drive.

Well hmm it wont let me make another primary dos partition is why i said exteneded. i dunno whats up

Make sure when you run, select Change Current Drive (or something like that) you should be able to create another primary.
