Is there anyway to recover the password from an IBM 600e? I cannot
get the laptop to boot or anything because of this. I bought a new
mobo for it off ebay but I really hate to have to swap the mobo out.
It looks like I might as well just replace the motherboard. I have one sitting here
that I already bought anyways. Hope their not too much of a pain in the arse though.

In case you didn't know, there is a hardware maintance manual for your ThinkPad. It has intructions on how to replace the system board.
Seriously though, whenever I do repair on other brands (Gateway, Sony, etc.), they're very nasty about giving the end-user and repair instructions, so the Hardware Maintenance Manual is a very handy thing to have. In fact, IBM even has movies that show video of replacing parts... Kudos to IBM!
