WARNING - pic is big for detail....
Picture.

I bought this LCD off ebay. ( The LCD on the left off ebay ).

Now I get it and I notice it only has one cable so I know something isn't right.

The seller in his auction stated the LCD worked with 600/600e laptops as well as 600X laptops.

If you look at the picture of my 600e, you see it has 2 cables that hookup the LCD. The LCD I bought off ebay has 1 connector. Are the 600X LCDS different and smaller? I've owned both 600/600e models and I know this LCD is not either of those.

If anyone knows what model of thinkpad this LCD fits please let me know. I am trying to get the seller to refund my money but he is being stubborn. Claiming he took it off a 600x thinkpad and it should be compatible. He said clearly in his auction listing that it worked with 600/600e laptops too.

Oh well. He wants me to ship it back 1st to him then he wants to refund my $$ but I don't trust him. I think he will just end up keeping both the LCD and my $$.

Picture is proof if you ask me that its his mistake.

Anyone with info please respond.

TIA

I'm basically screwed unless paypal rules in my favor. As of right now he will not refund. So unless paypal rules
in my favor and refunds my $50 then I'm screwed.

PayPal will not rule in your favor. It is buyers responsibilty to make sure the part you're buying is compatible with your model. You tried to replace a 13.3" LCD with a 12" LCD, so you're one at fault. Be glad he's offering you a refund if you return the part, he is not obligated to do so. The seller has almost 90 transactions versus your 9. Why would he refund you before shipping?

Edit: forgot to add, the seller's right, 12" model from 600 series will replace a broken 12" LCD from ANY 600 model TP. You tried to install it in place of 13.3" model which uses a different video card/inverter board.

Can you show me a 600E model thinkpad with a 12.1??? I can't seem to find a one! This guy might have like 90 transactions but that is NOTHING. And he has got negatives before.

I will keep the LCD and find a laptop that needs the LCD. Buy the laptop cheap and put the LCD on it. I do NOT feel comfortable returning it to this guy.

And there was a red flag when I saw it was only 12.1 inch in size but I thought by chance that maybe 2 different lcds were compatible. Evidently not and his description is wrong. Oh well.

It is your fault, not seller's. It is your responsibilty to make sure the part will work with your laptop. Why on earth would you ever assume that you could replace a 13" model with a 12"? Obviously, you know nothing about laptops and should do your homework next time.
