IBM 600 Thinkpad

Need a little help.

I have an old IBM 600 Thinkpad which my company gave to me as they are upgrading.

The specs are below.

I wiped the drive and installed Windows 98SE. The system operates fine. However, the laptop display will only display 640X480 resolution, and the viewable area only occupies the center 1/3 of the total screen. It is clearly a vid driver problem.

I've toyed around with the various drivers on the Win98 CD, but nothing seems to work. Is it the driver? Am I missing a file? Is there something I can download to fix this?

Under Device Manager I have two items appearing with the dreaded EXCLAMATION MARK highlighted in yellow.

The first...Intel 82371AB/EB PCI Bus Master IDE Controller

The second....Unknown Device...which appears under Other Devices.

IBM 600 Thinkpad
Pentium II
32MB RAM
CD-ROM
External Floppy Disk Drive (not USB, not serial...I'm not sure what the formal name for this short/flat pin connector is)

Thanks, folks.

98SE doesn't have the drivers, you need to go to the IBM support page and download them. Just use XP or Win2k and your set.

XP won't load. NOT enough resources.

2K I don't have.

The point of this is that the kid wants to play legacy games. This is a PERFECT choice for legacy games like Mech2.

I tried the IBM site. I can't find anything.
