IBM 40gig hdd lock-ups bios ?

Hello,

I'm having really big trouble installing ata 100 drive on ata 66 with 33gb bios limit ... well , I followed this instruction :

it works fine , but after number 7 after reboot my bios still lock-ups at detecting my hdd ; (

what can I do ?

I'm really in need b/c it's not my computer.

p.s. my jumper settings are for master 16 heads , b/c nothing else seems to work at all.

can you not try for an updated bios which may allow the bios to see all of the drive without needing an overlay?
if a bios update isn't possible & major problems continue with the ibm software then getting a promise ata66 or 100 pci controller card for that hdd will solve your present problem as it has its own bios with a 128Gb limitation!
