i850 Windows XP and Sandra

My brand new system's Hard Disk benchmarks are rediculously slow in Sandra 2001te. My WD 600BB 7200 rpm on i850 IDE gets a third of my old WD300AB 5400's score on promise U66.
I've installed all the relevant intel inf and ATA drivers. Is anyone in the same situation?

I really don't trust the Sandra benchmark's for HDD performance. If you don't notice a difference I wouldn't really worry about it. Sandra told me two 7200 HDD's with RAID 1 was slower than ATA100.

This is probably an obvious one, but are you sure you're using an ATA/100 Cable and not an ATA/33 one? That would account for diminished speeds.
