i815E(P) w/ Tualatin-256 support?

I know that all current 815 chipset solutions do not provide support for the future P3 Tualatin-256 core. However, AnandTech's article on Intel's roadmap for 2000-2001 says that the Tualatin-256 will use the socket 370 interface, and the i815 chipset will be upgraded to support the new P3 core. I was wondering if i could take my current i815 solution and provide Tualatin-256 support through the installation of new mobo drivers, or must i get a new chipset with Tualatin-256 support altogether?

You will need a new chipset altogether...the i815E(P) will have a new revision of the (G)MCH coming soon to support the Tualatin.

Thanks for the advice...i figured that maybe there might be a software related solution. With all those video cards and mobos out there that keep improving performance-wise due to updated drivers, i figured maybe a driver could be used to add support to the i815 for the Tualatin-256. its too bad i'll have to get a whole new i815 chipset...

Are you indicating that i815EP supports the new Intel P3 core "Tualatin" which is coming in the future? Does that mean the Asus CUSL2-C supports it?

no that is not what i was indicating...sorry if my words were confusing. i was just inquiring if any of the i815 chipsets (815, 815E, and 815EP) had Tualatin-256 support, none of which have that support yet...not even the i815EP, thus the CUSL2-C doesnt support it either since it uses the one of the variations of the 815 chipset.
