I was looking at this deal: http://www.ncixus.com/products...20-6GB/Bundle%20Deals/

It comes with 3 kits of 2x1GB ddr3 1600 CL9.

If I ran all 6 GB in triple channel setup, will it work even though it's dual channel ram?

Also, is it silly to get ddr3-1600 at cl9 (seems like a high latency, though I'm not really sure what I'm talking about :)

I'm pretty sure the voltage on these things is 1.5, so I'm ok, though I can't get onto Aeneon's site.

That kit would work, but it seems very pricey for what you get. You can get 6GB (3x2GB sticks) kits of DDR3-1600 with CAS 8 or even CAS7 for a good bit less on newegg. If you're only taking up 3 memory slots on an X58 motherboard, then you have room for expansion later if you need it.

Check out this kit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820227381

It has great CAS 7 timings and is very affordable. It's nearly half the price of the kit in the link you posted.

Barring some really bad luck, it should work in triple channel.

It's always better to avoid filling all DIMM slots if possible though, especially when OCing, so i'd try to find a 3x2 GB if at all possible.

yeah, that makes sense, thx! ewiz has some good deals on mobo/memory combo..i was thinking gigabyte UD4P and STT D3-1333 6GB (3x 2GB) CL8. I figure the gap is starting to close b/t i7 and a top penryn, though half of me wants to wait for Lynnfield.
