For about a month now I've been using a nice shiny new Core i7 system, and though I've been able to fix most of the initial issues there's one I've not yet been able to resolve. Basically the system doesn't like coming out of sleep.
The current hardware being used is an ASUS P6T w/ 6GB (3x2GB) Kingston @1333, Gigabyte 9600GT, Seagate Barracuda ES + 7200.10, Pioneer 216 - nothing exotic. I've seen dozens of threads of people having the same (or similar) issues waking X58/i7 systems from sleep, but no solutions. Latest BIOS, etc.
I've tried a few modes (though I'm happy to try again) - disabling S3, advanced extensions etc. System is running Vista64.
What happens when you try to wake the system is the following:
System is in sleep mode.
- Power on via keyboard or power button.
- System fans power up, but nothing further occurs.
- Power the system down by 5s depression of power button
- Press power button again ? system appears to power up, no POST this time either, no further action.
- Power the system down again.
- Power the system up. This time it POSTs, and resumes from hibernate.
It's incredibly annoying ? it's consistent every time, needing to power it down twice and power it back up the third time to get the system back.
Any ideas? It'd be nice to be able to put a system to sleep at night and not spend three minutes booting it up in the morning.
