Hi guys I'm looking into building an i7 shoebox with a thermaltake lanbox lite which is documented to allow a maximum cpu cooler height of 100mm. All of the cooler reviews and roundups for enthusiasts just crush that max height. Thermaltake has 2 or 3 coolers which will fit but they look pretty much like the stock cooler. I'm wondering what some recommendations are for my situation. My intention is to acheive a 24/7 OC at stock voltages all around.

edit - I'm going to answer my own question. The Scythe Shuriken Rev.B is a 65mm tall cooler with a 12mm thick 100mm fan. The sink is a quality unit much like a full sized cooler except more compact, and the contact patch is supposed to be quite good out of the box. Performance falls in between the stock cooler and full size towers, keeping in mind that its extremely quiet. The cooler accepts 92mm replacement fans so what I am going to do is replace the 100x12 with a conventionally sized 100x25 for better cooling and a total cooler height of about 80mm. This works out for me and I would suggest anyone building an i7 system with a cooler height constraint take a look at this one because you can pretty much customize the height and performance by choosing the appropriate 92mm fan replacement. A variation of this cooler is supposedly in the works or coming out soon called big shuriken which is larger at 120mm and even lower than 65mm.
