i7 980x maximum turbo 3508 mhz ?!

i have i7 980x and a ud7 motherboard , and under maximum loading the maximum turbo Frequency is 3508 mhz (x26) ,

it suppose to be 3.6, how can i reach it ?!

3.6 is when only one or two cores are active, maybe you're using 3+ ?

Yeah you don't need to much extra voltage to hit 3.8/4ghz with that thing. Might as well shut off turbo and hit max frequency at a safe voltage with *all* cores.

yea especially when the stock cooler will get you to 4ghz no problem

The x27 multiplier works only when 1 core is stressed. When 2 or more cores are stressed the maximum is x26.

On an awesome chip like that, can you really tell the difference between 3.5 and 3.8/4 other than when benchmarking? Just curious because I can't afford one at this time.
