i7 950 getting hot

Is this normal? It hasn't been an issue at stock clocks for about a year now and out the the blue, playing BF3, it hard locks, I reboot and BIOS give me a CPU temp error. It was a little over 80c when it came back up, which means it was probably closer to 90-95c when it crashed. I cleaned out the heatsink which was a little dusty but nothing bad. I get idle temps around 50c. I have since ordered an A70 and might do some moderate OC'ing since I blew another ~$50 just to keep this stupid thing cool...

My 930(@4.2Ghz) will take sustained 90-95c temps and not throttle or crash, it gets to 90c routinely during the summer months when my ambient temps hit 30-35c. I test it every summer during the hottest days with 24-48 hours of IBT to make sure that every year it has not degraded and needs more voltage to take my overclock.

I suspect your heatsink may not be seated correctly if its getting that hot at stock clocks though, the stock heatsinks are very bad but not that bad.
