i7 950 and XP-90

So digging through my computer stuff last night I found my old xp-90 heatsink with an 80mm panaflo. I know that I have to buy a new retention bracket but I was wondering if this heatsink is sufficient to cool my i7 950 at stock temps and how far I could push i my processor with this heatsink/fan combo. I currently have the stock heatsink/fan from intel installed.

It's better than the Stock Intel HSF but you won't be able to push it that far espically with only an 80mm fan. (Panaflo tend to be low speed too).

do they even make a retention bracket for that? i bought one for 775 but i didn't know they made one for 1366

im pretty sure thermalright sells a 1366 bracket for the xp-90. I will think about purchasing a new heatsink/fan. I just want to get rid of this POS intel heatsink!!! what a dinker

As others have mentioned, it would be better than stock, but XP-90 won't hold a candle to some of the top air coolers today.
