i7 920 owners, what is your average temp?

I have a Core i7 920 with stock heatsink at stock speed and my average idle temps are 59c

Is that normal?

What temps you getting?
 
My idle temps were in the Mid 40's with stock heatsink. I can't remember exactly but it was nuts. I had to get an aftermarket hs to get it under control.

Stock cooler? I don't have a i7 920 but that does seem kinda high for idle temps. What kind of case and airflow do you have? Ambient temp?

I have a xigmatek dark knight heatsink, with a high speed fan (scythe craze fan), and I use artic silver thermal paste. Right now the best cooler you can buy price/ performance wise is the cooler master hyper 212+ and it's not even close! That's what I would suggest.

Your i7 at stock speeds seems to be high at 59c at idle. Even with the stock cooler which is crap. What does it hit when you run the Intel burn test? I would try to reapply thermal paste and reseat it.

TRUE 120 + 1 fan

idle: 35-40
load: low 60s

my ambient temp is fairly high, and the above is with HT off. with HT on, same clock and everything, idle is about the same, but load temps are ~70

Stock HSF

Mine was around 59c, moved computer out from under corner desk (had to get longer dvi cable). Cleaned intake filter and now it is averaging around 51c idle.
 
idle around 35-40C, load gets around 76 C.

p95: 96-99C depending on ambient
IBT: Throttles

It will also depend on the BIOS options you use. Speedstep will reduce the multiplier to 12 at idle so that will reduce temps quite a lot. Fixed turbo will do the opposite.

Mine is about 80C full load (lousy proc fan) and below 40C idle with speedstep on. That is at 3.8GHz with Coolermaster HyperZ600.

Idle 35-40
Full load 65-69

True Black edition with one single S-Flex 1900 RPM.

Fan was not running full speed when I took the temps though.
