i7 920 OC

Hi,

I don't have the parts yet but I am already doing the math 🙂.
First time OC here 🙂.

I'm not going to push it very hard as I only want to get 3.2 Ghz for now.
What do you think about these settings?

BCLK = 160
CPU multiplier = 20
Uncore multiplier = 20
Memory Multiplier = 10
QPI multiplier = 36

CPU frequency = 3.2 Ghz
Uncore frequency = 3.2 Ghz
Memory frequency = 1600 Mhz
QPI frequency = 5.8 GT/s

I hope I get this at default voltage CPU and Uncore/QPI. Is it reasonable?

Thanks

3.2 with stock CPU voltage is doable for sure, but you may have to raise qpi/vtt from default to run 1600 ram. 1.25v would probably be enough.

Thanks for the answers.
Another question. What would be better, a 10X multiplier or a 12X multiplier for the memory?

I get 3.2 with a C0 using 1.15V with LLC disabled. Rock solid.

Good to run at lower volts if you're using stock cooler.

Memory speeds don't usually matter alot unless you do lots of memory intensive stuff, such as 7-zip with large files.

What cooling do you have? Is HT on or off? With a D0, going way above 3.2 is doable with good cooling. For now, you are fine, though watch your temps if you are still on stock cooling.
