LGA1366 i7 920 D0 @ 3.6ghz 1.175vcore, 180mhz bclk, DDR3 1084? or some odd number everything else at auto including all other voltages. HT on, turbo/speedstep off.
From realtemps im getting 60-64 when under 100% load with prime 95 large FFTS, speedfan tells me the CPU is 56, the cores in that show up as 60-62 though. This is normal temps yeah? Last time i overclocked somthing it was an opteron 170 and it sucked :/ Didnt even get an extra 400mhz out of it, also the max temp not to go over was 60 for the opty, i think stuffs changed a bit since then though.
Am i doing this right? Ive read i shouldnt leave things on "auto" as some mobos overvolt etc, is that mainly somthing to worry about for the 4ghz+ people, should i be concerned? Also what about speedstep? I know turbo can make an OC unstable but i can turn speedstep back on when im sure its stable at 3.6ghz cant i?
My setup is:
i7 920 D0 w/ corsair H50 water thing
Asus P6TSE latest bios 0608
4GB DDR3 1600 corsair XMS3 (will be 6GB but 1 stick was bad)
HD5850
Coolermaster 600w silent pro
