i7 920 d0 and c0

Very easy to obtain if you ask enough questions of the vendor. If you just go to Fry's and buy one it's a crap shoot. But online vendors cater to those of us that need the good stuff!

What questions would you ask? I put in an order for one at microcenter before learning about d0 and c0. I still have to go pick it up though. Is there anything I can do to ensure I get a d0, or any way I can tell what type it is from the box?

The box does tell you the series. Ask them if they will assure you get the one you want, or if the salesperson is willing to look thru the inventory for the right type. When I built my Quad 6600 a couple years ago, I needed the right stuff for OC work, and found that Amazon shipped only that type of chip.

When I got the chip for this build, I again found it online. I got it from Antares Digital - they sell only D0 stepping. Oh and by the way bulding a PC with this processor is a blast. They run ~VERY~ good.... !!

So I'd be looking for "SLBEJ" on the box?

oh, another question. I see in your specs that you're using 8gb of ram. That's not triple channel, is it? I thought with i7 920/ 1366 we had to use triple channel?

Yea that's what this one says on the box. BX80601920 is the product code. RE the triple channel yes it works on this board. I am using four 2GB simms. Both sides of the first bank are used, and then the backside of the second two banks are used.

I installed according to the motherboard's documentation and the board boots & shows TRIPLE CHANNEL in the Bios as it boots through the POST.
