i7 920 3843A797
Asus P6T
Crucial 4x2GB 1333 DDR3
AMD HD4890 1GB
Corsair 620HX
1. Set everything up and no display, no boot. Fans, vid, lights all spinning and running.
2. RMAed the board
(tried single to 4dimm memory with different slots, A1 A1&B1, A1&C1, etc) 8pin 24pin both plugged. 2x4pin pci-e plugged, all plugged.
reset the bios, battery, etc, tried everything possible known to man.
3. received the new board p6t...set it up, no go. no display, lights, fans, vid all up and running. tried everything humanly possible, no go.
my vidcard works on another machine. all four 2GB crucial can't be bad (they are listed as supported by asus p6t), so it narrows down to the MB and CPU. CPU was mounted twice with proper contact with CM V8. I doubt it's the CPU because I would've at least gotten a warning display that the cpu is not present (i think?)
two mb in a row is not likely....
i read somewhere on the net that they had the same problem with p6t and had to have their bios updated. I contacted asus and they had told me i need a new bios for the new 920 stepping (Do presume). I believe mine is Co stepping and there is no need for a bios update.
wtf is going on?
UPDATE:
I rmaed my 775 board and upgraded to i7 setup due to my initial thought of going thru a bad bios flash. Apparently, my DVI on my monitor is dead...and all these time i thought my 775 bios was dead as well as my i7 setup.
