Not sure if this is answerable but...

We are planning a purchasing a few new PC's for CAD/GIS (from Dell). I have it narrowed down to Precission Workstation T1500 or T3500. I believe basically the same machine except for the processor (i7-860 vs Xeon W3520). We will only be running a single processor. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Steve

860 = LGA1156
W3520 = LGA1366

If ram is important, you want LGA1366

Without sounding too dumb here - do you mean type of RAM or how much. I'm lookng at 4GB of DDR3 NECC SDRAM 1066MHz.

I think aigo means both amount of RAM and bandwidth:
LGA1156, dual channel, usually supporting 4 DIMMS max.
LGA1366, triple channel, usually supporting 6 DIMMS max.
