i7-4770k cooling

I just purchased an i7-4770k.

I have plans to learn to OC with it and I know they heat ALOT. I was wondering was is the best thermal paste and the best closed-loop LC I can get at or under 100$ CAD (I'm from Canada) or if air cooling will suffice.

I will play Bf4 on eyefinity and other demanding games with r9 290x CF.

You will get mixed opinions with regards to the best thermal paste. For normal pastes, many people like Prilomatech PK-1, Noctua NT-H1, Arctic Cooling's MX-4, Tuniq TX-2. If you are using a heatblock that is not aluminum covered (or if you were to lap the heatblock) then the best paste hands down would be Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra or Liquid Pro.

I have no experience with closed loop coolers other than the one I had for a few short days and returned because the noise of the pump drove me nuts (Corsair H80).

Concerning the closed LC H100i, I've seen people recommend removing the liquid to put another higer performance one, can someone tell me which liquid would be best?

Whoever recommended removing the liquid should think again why they bought AIO watercooling in the first place. It is meant to be a hassle free, no maintenance solution. If you wanted to tamper with it and void your warranty, its much better to go with custom and fill the liquid of your choice. The difference a "high performance" coolant will make is too much trouble for its worth.

Either one will work but the second option depends on the number of 4 pin PWM fan that your motherboard supports. The 4 pin will work with 3 pin connectors but you'll lose its PWM function.
