i7-3770K 229.99$ @ MC

Damn that's a serious deal. Already own a 3570k, which I really don't use to its full extent to start with. Still tempted. Sheesh. That's so much cheaper than anywhere else it almost seems like a typo.

repost

Oh, if you missed that...

repost

That isn't counting all the other posts when the price was higher and it was eligible for the combo deals. They basically dropped the price from $269.99 by $50, and got rid of the $50 combo deal.

tl;dr Micro Center has great CPU prices. Periodically someone "discovers" these prices and posts them (again) in hot deals forums.

Yes, hot deal at $100 less than Newegg. Yes, repost.

I have a first gen i7, bundled with a GTX 480... looks like it's time to upgrade... After the Titan announcement, I may just stick with a GTX 680... i really want that triple head output....

Probably should sell my surface 128 🙁

If there isn't a Microcenter near you, you can usually get Bestbuy.com to price match.

Just find the nearest Microcenter (be sure it's in your State at least), and find the nearest Best Buy retail store to it.

Call BestBuy.com, tell them you want to price-match a "local competitor." Give them the Microcenter address and phone number, and the Best Buy address. The phone rep will call Microcenter to verify price and stock, and that should be it. You can even have the item shipped, no need to pick it up.

Make sure you do this during Microcenter's store hours. Not 2AM, which is what I originally tried to do.

Well I finally broke down and bought one of these tonight. Made a 40 mile drive to get it,
but I find myself at microcenter far more than I should be.

I am currently using core i7 2600k (which I purchased from Microcenter on Sandy Bridge release date back in January 2011.
I've yet to OC the sandy and looking to utilize PCIe 3.0 with my 2 gtx 680's.

Very expensive futureproofing done to my pc lately. ;o)

(upgraded from Gigabyte P67a-ud4-b3 to Gigabyte Z77X-UP7)

Guess I'm driving to MC tonight. I ordered and paid online and they have no authorized pickup person program now.

It's only a 260 mile round trip...

Edit: Cancelled MC order and called best buy @ 888-237-8289 and gave them the zips for both the MC store and the local BB (even though I live ~ 130 miles from either one). The agent verified the UPCs as matching, adjusted the order and set it up to ship to me for free. Ended up paying $247.18 shipped which was slightly less than MC with no pickup required.

Think I'm going to pick up an i7 this weekend. Anyone want to recommend a board for ~$130 to go along with this?

I did the microcenter road trip too. Green Bay to Chicago and back in 6 hours

😱

Hope you brought a few friends so that everyone can get in on the action.

Heck, if you do that again, swing by my place and I'll drive the remainder of the way. I've got an Ipass so tolls are half price versus paying cash. You pay tolls, I pay gas. We both save $$$. 😎

This deal is what made me bite the bullet after years of sticking with my Q6600. MC also has a sweet deal on the Asus mobo, only discounted when you buy the processor.

So Best Buy matched the price....interesting.

I went to MC yesterday (80 miles) and returned with a 3770k for $243 (tax included). Put it in rig 1 MB Asus P8Z68 - V Pro/Gen3. Man does this fly. Used AI suite to OC and it set it at 43 x 103 for an overall clock of 4429 (4.42Ghz). Runs solid, cool AND FAST!😎
