Sometime I hate upgrading.

Cant decide if there will be any benefit to going to the i7-3520M vs i5-3320M.
This is in a laptop config so the rest of the system is same between the two i'm looking at, the price difference is about $180

About the only difference that i can see on ark.intel.com is i7 2.9/3.6 turbo 4m cache vs i5 2.6/3.3 turbo 3m cache

Usage: primarily my work machine so, general office stuff, VM Management, light vm's on the machine itself.

Plan is to also add a ssd to the machine once I get it as well

Im leaning more towards the i5 just because it is cheaper and I don't think I will really see much difference

In total there is about a 300MHz difference in performance and 1MB of cache for the Intel® Core™ i7-3520M. Since the applications that you are talking about running on this are not that power demanding I think in the end you are going to be happy going with the Intel Core i5-3320M.
