ooo been kinda waiting for this to come back.

tangent: isn't it illegal to advertise something as 'regularly' 369.99 when you've had it on 'sale' at $279.99 for the last year?

If that was illegal, then pretty much every store and manufacturer out there would be in the hell hole getting sued like crazy or getting arrested...

Btw, I hate you Americans. You got Microcentre and Fry's

So do you get the coupon by email? When I filled out the form I got a blank page, tried again and it said I'm already registered.

once you fill out the info they will send you an email to the address you input. That email will have a link that directs you to a microcenter.com address with the coupon. You click on it to print -> you have a single shot at printing it, if you fail, you will need to redo the process with new info (most likely)

Thanks OP.

I stacked this ($229) with a Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen 3 for $50 off ($160). Is that a good deal?

Didn't MC used to have the 2600K at $199 with $50 off Z68 motherboards?

Any thoughts on the P8Z68 Gen3? I liked the Intel NIC and I'm assuming this board will have good bios support for Ivy Bridge?

considering that same board/cpu would run you $525 @ newegg and you paid $389+tax I think you got a hell of a deal.

I don't think this cpu was ever at 199 with the mobo deal. I have been watching for a while and I think this is the hottest deal I have seen for this proc.

for my personal machines I will only buy asus boards. I am sure it is a good board

What date is this coupon valid through? I have to wait until I get to work tomorrow to print it.

this + the $50 off mobo is too insanely good of a deal to pass up.

i don't need an upgrade (i wanted a ssd instead), but i'll be heading over to microcenter in westbury tomorrow.

Thanks, I did have to re-do it (stupid noscript blocked it - more trouble than it's worth I'm starting to think). Anyway I got the e-mail immediately the second time around.

Hhhmmm... Now I'm trying to decide if I should jump on this or wait and get an IB later this year...

you will not find comparable performance at this price level + you get to enjoy now vs 3-4 months. I guess it really comes down to what you have currently. I am never a fan of waiting for the next big thing as you will always be waiting. This is a hot deal for a high performing chip that is available now.

from what I have heard, though I haven't looked much, the IB isn't really a big leap in performance... even so, IB will be compatible with 1155 so a simple cpu swap will still be an option down the road and you will only be out 229...

Currently using an E8400. Thinking I might as well jump on this and enjoy it sooner rather than waiting.

what's the mobo deal? is there a specific list or any z68 board? I was waiting for IB (mostly for boards w/ native USB3/TB), but this might be worth it now. But I need a mATX board, as I'm trying to shrink my desktop footprint, heh.

Someone above mentioned getting the deal on an Asus P8Z68-V Pro/Gen 3 which I don't see on the list (I see the non-Gen3 version listed). So there might be other mobos available.

It is on the bottom left in the "instant savings" section ($15 off) (SKU 041566) with an additional $50 off available with a 2600K/2500K combination deal.

Anyway, I was able to make an online reservation for SKU 041566 at $159.99.
