Hello, I am thinking about upgrading my cpu which is i5 8600 (non-K version) to ryzen 3600 (x) or i5 9600K is it worth it ? Or should I upgrade some time in the future when there will be bigger performance gap? It would also mean a new mobo I edit photos and play on 1440p 144hz monitor, no streaming etc. Gpu would be rtx 2070 super, rtx 2080 or rtx 2080ti. Thank you

You keep posting many different "Should I upgrade my CPU to.....",
yet you never respond back in any of them after people give you
advice. If you actually want advice, respond back to the other
users.

You already have several threads that are still open, so use one of
those. Do not create another "Should I upgrade my CPU to......"
thread.

I suggest to you not to bother upgrading from and i5-8600 to an i5-9600k if it's just for gaming. The difference in game is not much between the two. It's about 5%. Actually there is not anything out there right now that will give you a big improvement in gaming, including the i9-9900k. Also you will probably take a slight performance reduction in general gaming performance by upgrading to an R5-3600 from an i5-8600 but a big improvement in multithreaded apps (rendering, photo editing, encoding, etc). 6 cores even without hyperthreading is still good for gaming. Does your current CPU really feel too slow for photo editing? Unless you want much better performance in anything else than gaming, then I suggest you wait.
