i5 750 mATX mb with an old psu with 20a on the 12v rail?

i have an old school thermaltake psu lying around.
it's got 20a on the 12v rail i believe.

system is going to have:
gigabyte p55-ud2 board
2x2gb ddr3
ati 3450
1 hdd
1 dvd

should i do it?

The PSU will be insufficient for your needs. It will likely fail on you and when it does so there is a good cahnce it will damage something else in the system.

As stated above, I would assume that means 20A(240W). Even if it works, you would be cutting it close. I would buy a new PSU to go with an i5 quad core if I were you.

Duh? Another fine example of people buying new parts and destroying them because they overlooked the most important part in a system: the PSU.

Don't forget, old Thermaltakes were pretty much the equivilent of generic PSUs.
