can't believe this isn't posted yet...

just grabbed one... now i have the i7 860, x4 965, and i5 750 deals...

wtf i'm going to do with them i don't know, but i got them... may be housecleaning time and just get rid of all the old stuff...

interesting that the kid at the plano, tx frys said no one is biting on this 'because of no virtualization and no hyperthreading'...

anytime u pay for the chip and get the mobo for free it's a deal...

Tempting but honestly in games it wasnt that much more impressive than my E8400 in the reviews.

Dumb question but I have been out of the loop for a while. But what CPU is better the I7 or the I5..

Been under a rock for a while as far as CPU benchmarks go.

this combo would do 4ghz pretty easy (usually) and would be great for most computing tasks... but the 'real' i7's (860 is a sorta i7, ht and vt, but 1156 pins) have more maximum potential, and cost a bunch more...

but seeing 8 little cpu graphs in taskmanager is worth the extra $$$...

Wasn't this combo $200.00 a couple of weeks ago? It was smokin' at that price.

This is insane.

Thanks OP, I picked up one this afternoon. They had three motherboards to choose from. I got the Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R Motherboard for $220 - $30MIR = $190. In-store only. They also had the EVGA mb and a BioStar. I would have gotten the EVGA but it didn't support crossfire. I want to try crossfire my two new HD4870's. Anybody currently running this setup?

Hmmm... trying to decide if I want to drive to Fry's before they close. I called and the phone just rings and rings...

What DDR3 deal are you talking about?

By the time I got to the store in Chicago they were all sold out. I'm hoping someone does one of these deals online!

Must be nice living in a place where you can still get a Frys combo at noon.

When combos this good are in the newspaper circulars, they sell out of the motherboards pretty quickly. Sunday evening I got in on the unadvertised Phenom II X4 965 BE + MSI 785GM-E65 combo when the Gigabyte board had sold out.

be sure to ask insistently of someone who looks like they may have an iq above room temp when they are out of one deal, because they virtually always have another... i got an upgraded board (ma790x) for a couple more bucks (overall a better deal than the original deal in my opinion, much higher feature mobo)...
