Well im really confused what to buy. I will build a computer with either of these and its not primaly for gaming. Its for desktop. I know I know why i5 with a k on top of that, yes I know what it for but its on sale and the pricedifference on these two are almost same.
I was going for amd 6700k 65watt but... amd is a very good allrounder but now... cant decide!
So I do wonder if grapics in i5 the 4600 is enogh for windows store games like "hurricane... something" the boat game. Does also manage to play Sims 3 .... or should I go for the amd 6700k.
Its primaly a desktop computer and sometimes light gaming like games on windows store *win 8" and sims 3, mayby portal 2...
Yes Im confused ... i5 has the cpu power but...
Help ...

The 6700K in CPU performance competes with Pentium/i3. Not i5. Not sure why you wish to compare it to a 4670K. Maybe look on an i3 4330 for compare if you dont want a discrete graphics card.

What sort of form factor are you going for, and what sort of budget do you have?

If you want a SFF, and you don't want a discrete video card, the A10 would be a fine choice for desktop + some gaming.

If you're planning on mATX or larger, I'd get either the Athlon II x4 750/760k and a discrete video card, or an i5 + video card depending on budget.

Hey hey, MiniITX doesnt mean you have to exclude a dGPU. See signature :p

Indeed, over the holidays I built two mITX Haswell i5 systems with HD7850's for light gamers. You don't really give up much going with that form factor.

Only 2 things you give up as I see it is SLI/CF and 2vs4 DIMMs. But with DDR4, the DIMM count is down to 2 in mATX/ATX as well. All hail the new small mITX overlords :p

4670k is way CPU overkill for this usage. I would go with an i3, the lowest end i5, or the apu. If you are absolutely sure you will not want to do more demanding gaming, I would probably choose the 6700k. A small form factor for light gaming is one of the few places an apu on the desktop makes sense to me.

Well im going to use Fractal Design Define R4 as a case so the form factor is not a problem... its not that I need a case like that but its not more expensive than small factor and still going to stay at a floor with white desktop *white case" hmmm im getting off topic this is just estetic smile.

Well the i5 is just by a margin expensier, its on sale... so that's why im really confused. Its almost the same price as amd 6700k but of course the amd grapics much better... but still games like om windows store and sims 3 and mabie portal 2....
Something in me telling to go for i5... but..
personally im fond of amd, have an 970 penom2 and also in a laptop T9400 and T9400 is super, have an ssd in it and just regular hdd *Samsung spinpoing F3" in phenomen. I know 970 is better but the lack of ssd is visually that the T9400 Is better.
I can only imagine i5 with an ssd, have an crusial M500 240gb in this system.
I do really don't have a budget, its for a friend... Not looking for a supercomputer but... well I guess i5 is a supercomputer that's why I need advise ...

You should look at something like a G3220 Pentium, LGA1150 board and a discrete GPU in the GTX650/HD7750 class. It will also fit your gaming needs for longer. And then you can always upgrade the CPU with something worth an upgrade.
