i5-4670k OC, which CPU cooler?

Hey guys.

I'm planning to oc my i5 4670k but I need to get custom cooler for that.
I was thinking about getting either cooler master EVO 212 or Raijintek Ereboss. Do you recommend anything else?

How high do you want to go? If you are looking for a moderate OC then EVO will do the trick.

High overclocks somehwere above 4.4 will probably need a big noctura or a water cooler

I'm using the nzxt t40 and it keeps mine under 60c as long as I keep the tdp around 80w. (1.2v 4.2Ghz) I see closer to 80-85c if I allow the tdp to go full out under AVX load. (130w.)

I like the CoolerMaster GeminII M4 because it's low-profile yet still has a 120mm fan. I don't overclock though.

(I find putting an adequate amount of thermal grease helps temperatures, like a real pea-sized amount instead of a puny amount.)

I'm not satisfied with the performance of my 212 EVO. It's getting hotter than I'd like at 4.2GHz and no voltage adjustment. High 60s/low 70s in games and realistic benchmarks. I won't say anything about stress tests though because I haven't run any of those with fixed voltage and I don't want to worry you quite that much.

EVO is good for the money (although there are alternatives such as Xigmatek Gaia and Thermalright TS 120). But if you start adding or replacing fans it starts losing value. And it will limit your oc (Haswell cpu's get really hot during AVX stresstesting unless you use fixed vcore, and then they still get hotter than Ivy Bridge due to IFVR).

Raijintek Ereboss is good, but it's a knockoff. I recommend the original, Thermalright Macho. Or if you have a sufficiently wide case, Thermalright TS 140 (170mm height).
