i5 4590 Processor Deal

Ordinarily, I'd recommend checking out a Xeon as you gain the Hyperthreading and cache (but lose the igp) for typically not a lot more cash (only $40 for an E3-1230 more in the states vs the i5-4590), however, prices I've seen for the E3-1230 in CAD are close to $400.

The only reason to buy this is if you already have 16GB of DDR3 or a motherboard. Otherwise, skip that CPU and go for Z170, DDR4 and Skylake.

i5-6400 3.3Ghz = $240 CDN
i5-6500 3.6Ghz = $260 CDN

You will also get a motherboard with USB3.1, Ultra M.2, Kaby Lake i7 upgrade path, etc.

I'm low on budget and the 6th gen processors motherboard are quite expensive and my motherboard is LGA 1150 so....

Should I wait for black friday or avail the deal at ncix ?

$240 is their normal price. It will be that or less on Black Friday. P.S., it's the 4690k that will for sure be on sale on Black Friday, most likely for around $250 CAD, if I had to guess.

I linked you two i5-6x00 series CPUs that cost roughly the same so they are not more expensive.

How were we supposed to know that since you never mentioned it in the original thread?

What's your maximum price range?

i5-4590 = $240
i5-4690 = $278
i5-4690K = $280

Personally, since I overclock, I'd spend $40 extra for the 4690K but that's your choice given your desire to overclock and your max budget. i5 4690K can hit 4.5Ghz but i5 4590 is a 3.3Ghz processor. If you already have a decent after-market cooler, I'd pick 4690K.

Checking the stock, British Columbia has > 10 and Ontario has > 10 online. Since the sale runs until November 26th, you can wait until that day to see if you can find a better deal. Just keep track that stock doesn't run out.

Sorry for not mentioning I have a LGA 1150 motherboard, my bad. I'm not saying the processors are more expensive but the motherboard compatible with them i.e the z170. I had a tight budget and bought the h81m p33 for $60 CAD. Not to mention I would also need a significantly higher budget for the ddr 4 memory as well so for now I can't afford to buy the 6th generation processors because it's complementary requirements are out of my budget not the processor itself.

PS. I have no intention of overclocking and I'm getting a GTX 970 as my graphics card.
