Hey guys,

I'm having trouble deciding between these two. I'm only going to be running a single SSD, meaning I have no real need for more than two SATA III, which most/all Z77 boards have.

Other than the increased connectivity, is there anything major that separates the two?

I am going to be building on a micro atx platform, if that helps.

I've been looking at Z87 and the 4670k since I can find some good combo deals at microcenter (I have one locally), but I can find slightly used 3570k for even cheaper and there is a much larger selection of Z77 micro atx boards.

Any help?

gotta love microcenter deals

used 3570k for how cheap? The reason I ask is because the 4670k bundled with a board usually nets $40.- off.

A 4670 with an ASRock Pro4-m for under $250.- is a pretty sweet deal. Also the 4670 is going to be a better performer (stock) with lower power consumption. Overclocking is a different story.

Microcenter offers the bundle deal on 3570k also. Price wise you'll only save $15 or so depending on motherboard selection. 4670k would be better deal.

I have a 3570k + hyper evo 212 o/c @ 4.5 ghz = 79c full load... Can even run it at 4.7 but temps creep up to the late 80's.....

I5 3570k is a dream and will easily o/c to 4.2 on stock cooler.
