Max memory speed is 2400 the i3-8100 is allowing. Can I buy 3200 and let it down clock itself so when I buy a new CPU upgrade I will already have the fast memory?
Yes you can buy whatever DDR4 memory and it will work on the default speed of what the CPU is intended for.Max memory speed is 2400 the i3-8100 is allowing. Can I buy 3200 and let it down clock itself so when I buy a new CPU upgrade I will already have the fast memory?
Why did you buy i3 8100 and Z board in first place?Awesome! Thanks fellas. I'll get one of these Z boards they are selling now and some 3200.
Well that the problem with Intel there is no guarantee.I want to run stock and save electricity. I don't think I will need more than this i3-8100 gaming at 1080p. I am a rather conservative gamer who is okay with just enough.
I didn't buy a board yet but it would be wise to get a z board so in a couple years I can drop something else in.
