Op stop getting so pissed off for people around here trying to help you out. If you dont like the answer you got, then you shouldn't have asked the question.I was in the same boat as you pretty much an AMD fan not wanting to go intel but facts are facts and AMD is going to be 5 generations behind come next month when Broadwell-e hits the markets. The way I see it is "They" AMD and Intel" are only Brand Names and once you can get past that like I did and many others have done, you will start to realize not every one is your enemy and not everyone is bashing the AMD name you love much. We're all trying to show you the better option like you asked for. The AM2+ platform is dead with no upgrade path at all. I would say the main reason to go skylake 6100-6300k would be its faster and stronger then the AMD option, plus its a newer socket with a upgrade path. Not to mention Intels new skylake platform runs cooler and take much less electric to run which will save you in the long run.

I presume you haven't actually read any of my posts? I've stated countless times that Intel are much better and I will 100% be switching to intel in the coming months. I already have the 6300, I just wanted to see if the reviews for Intel really were much stronger than the recommendations for AMD to see if it was worth it or not.

He has the FX-6300. Vossy, why don't you spend $30 of that money, and buy yourself this Hyper 212 Evo heatsink, and start running your FX @ 4.2-4.5 Ghz? Your single-threaded performance would go up slightly, since you have to turn off the turbo function to overclock, but instead you'd have all 3 modules/6 threads running faster than the maximum that one of your cores is running today. That's a pretty impressive jump in performance for $30, if you ask me!

You'd get WAY better FPS in games that can use a lot of high speed cores, such as GTA V, since instead of all 6 of your threads running @ 3.5 Ghz, like they do today, they'd all be running at a higher speed than just one of them is right now. 4.1 Ghz is what your CPU turbos up to, but it only does that when using one module, not all three. I think you should give it a shot. I definitely would, if I were in your situation.

edit: Oh yeah, that 212 Evo will also fit any of the newest Intel CPUs, as well as your FX 6300, so you can take it with you, if overclocking doesn't give you enough of a performance gain.
