I3 2120 vs fx 8320

Is the i3 2120 good enough for my wifes gaming rig?


I got a 212p with 8gb ram and i intend on putting the 7770 in it so the wife can use.

I briefly thought of giving her my 8320 and using this for me but ik dont know

It's not bad in most games but the dual threads can kill it on some titles. What are the rest of the specs? What sort of games does she play?

i3 2120 and HD 7770 are a nice match. She'll like it

How are the rest of the specs? How much RAM, hard drive type, power supply, monitor res. etc?

32in tv so res will be weird
7200 rpm 250gb for os
1tb for games etc
400w sparkle power psu

As for games she likes all telltale games bf4 cod
We play together on ps4
Resident evil well the coop ones
Coops games

I'm guessing she'll play at lower resolutions so the setup you're putting together will be enough. I would add a SSD drive in the near future.

It is a 4 thread cpu, not 2 threads, because it has hyperthreading. For the use case described, it should be fine.
