i3-2100 GPU or old 9600GT

Which is better? Not really much of a gamer. But I like to OC a little for fun.
I'm trying to decide whether to get a P67 or an H67 board.
If I get a P67 I do plan on upgrading to a better GPU than the 9600GT. Not right away though. Or I could just get an H67 board and use the onboard graphics.

I don't see how this is an apples to apples comparison. The P67 is a overclock enabled chipset but the Core i3 2100 is not overclockable. The cheapest overclockable SB processor is the Core i5 2500K.

Wrong.

All SB chips are overclockable. The K series just has a much higher limit. The non K versions only OC 5 bins higher, but it is still an improvement. So the I3 2100 can OC to 3.6Ghz I believe. And the IGP can be OC too, on a H67 board.

Get a P67 board and use your 9600GT. It will perform better and you will be able to OC a little. With a H67 you can not OC your CPU.

The 9600GT is assuredly faster. The 2100 integrated GPU is barely good enough to run games and definitely can't run a lot of games. So even if you dabble in gaming a dedicated card is going to be the way to go.

Thanks everyone. I actually ordered a P67 already (supposed to come today) and was second guessing myself. In the future I can always upgrade the cpu to OC Easier than upgrading the motherboard.
