i2600K Vcore higher when idle?

I'm using i7 2600k
GA-Z68AP-D3 Gigabyte Motherboard
H60 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
Nvidia 560Ti
16gb Gskill 1600 1.5v memory (9-9-9-24)
NZXT HALE82 HALE82-750 WATTS PSU

-I'm using Dynamic vcore and its set to +0.03
When I leave the cpu idle the cpu-z shows vcore volt at 1.36 and when I run prime95 or intelburn test it goes down to 1.32. Any idea?

Normal. vdroop only kicks in when the CPU is under load and that's what's responsible for the voltage drop.

I presume you turned off speedstep. If you don't let the CPU idle at 1.6ghz like it is supposed to then you won't see poper idle voltages.

If you are going to run it like that you could drop your offset a little more and bump up LLC a level or 2 to see lower idle voltages and less droop under load.

This is normal, it is called Vdroop meaning the voltage droops when the CPU is under load.

The same thing happens to the voltage in the electrical lines in your house when you plug something into the outlet that draws a lot of amps, only we don't call it voltage "drooping", we call it voltage "sag". (it is also the same thing that is happening when so-called "brownouts" occur on the electrical grid)

so I shouldn't worry about it then? with the default BIO's cpu vcore was v1.2... with the settings I have now in bios it shows V1.35 and in windows idle is V1.36 under pressure its down to V1.32. I ran Prime95 all night and its still running so far so good.

It's normal but if you're particular about this matter, using the LLC function in your BIOS will reduce the difference between the voltage you've set and the voltage that you will get with vdroop.

If its stable it's stable. Enabling LLC can lead to vcore spikes that are well above what is set in the bios so if you don't need it to gain stability, don't use it.

LLC is enabled already but left at default. The screen shot above is with LLC enabled.

It's not bad but don't get readings immediately after pressing the Start button, it isn't the max temp it will be at. You should screenshot somewhere between the last 2 runs.

Or just let it run all the way through since the software records the max temps anyway.

I'm so pissed! so I ran IBT and it ran fine on all settings except maximum it gave me a BSOD a0. ! not sure what that means now :-\ Couldn't find anything on google about it either....

Pretty simple. It means your overclock is unstable. You need to either lower your OC or increase the juice.
