I would think that IT Professionals would know SOME Internet lingo...

I was talking with a few of my co-workers, one of which watches 24 religiously. He asked me if I watched it last night. I never watch it on Tuesday nights anymore, because I like to BT the Widescreen version and watch it on my new HDTV later on in the week.

My co-worker, somewhat jealous, exclaimed, "oh, so you have a broadband connection, eh?"
My reply, being somewhat serious since I have a 6MBps DSL Connection: "yeah, I've got a nice fat pipe for my connection!"

Another co-worker shouted, "Oh my gosh, I can't believe you just said that out loud!"
Me: "What?"
Him: "Fat pipe! You said you got a fat pipe! Oh my gosh!"

Great, his mind was in the gutter and had no idea what I was really talking about.

I could comfortably say that most IT people are not familiar with little industry esotericisms, and I think "fat pipe" is probably one of them. Keep in mind most IT people are just there for the money, and they're don't spend their free time on forums like these.

Regardless of how much time they spend online I would think fat pipe would be a pretty easy one to guess when talkin about a connection.

btw lmao at the lol comment... roofles
