people are acknowledging they are aware it's in the wrong forum - and it still goes on

what's so bad about a simple poll in off topic?? The thread title made it obvious. If you don't like it, simply skip that thread. Oddly though, you had the longest post in the thread, simply to complain that the thread was there. And, the thread did not degenerate into the types of threads typical in P&N on the topic. It *is* possible to discuss some topics in OT without the typical fanboism/partisan arguments that invade nearly every thread in P&N. (Not that any real discussion was occuring in that thread though)

I gotta agree with the OP.

P&N is there for a reason... and most of us prefer not to have P&N spill over into OT.

The fact that one particular thread did not generate the normal infighting and crap that is the norm in P&N is not, imho, reason enough to give P&N threads a pass in OT.

The occasional Non-political news stories in OT is not the end of the world. But political stuff... I wish the Mods would lock them all, or move them to P&N.

Good to see you guys are on it! I hate it when people have to bring P&N threads into OT, as even though I don't have to click them they are always highly discussed and on the front page. 🙂

I'm on the same page, keep P&N in P&N, why ruin another forum?
Though I do have to admit I enjoyed the thread about Bush ordering the attack on the WTC, the tin foil hat crowd is always good for a laugh.

What's so bad is that when you let one person start this crap then everyone does it. Eventually we might as well merge OT and P&N.. well now we're getting gen hardware questions too.. might as well merge that right?


It wasn't a simple poll. It was a direct and obvious only-politic topic. He edited his title, but at first I do not believe it was obvious that it was political.

There is a huge difference between an 'off topicish' thread with some political overtones and a poll about whether or not you like bush. I mean wtf
